This is what I noticed in a previous post. Images uploaded from my pc are visible to everyone. those uploaded from my Streams cloud are only visible to my Streams contacts (not even Hubzilla contacts). Permissions are the same, and the post is public.

What are the permissions of the photo and the albums or folders that contain it?

Just poking around - the album with a name beginning with the letter N , is protected - I can only access it when logged in via OpenWebAuth. I guess the bigger question is why Hubzilla folks aren't authenticating or if they are in the access list for that album.

The photos in this post are set to "public", but the N album is for "connections" indeed. But that doesn't explain why my Hubzilla contacts can't see them.

It suggests that Hubzilla folks are probably not using a "magic auth" link containing a zid. This would be added by their server, and only for images coming from nomadic connections. Either it isn't present, or authentication is failing.

I'm using streams and I can see both images here.
Checking on another browser where I am NOT logged in:
Libéllule.jpg
https://cirtensis.net/photos/lotfi31/image/f0eba35c-4ded-4a9a-b0a7-608b3a89150b
I can see this page and the 900x600 scaled image on it.
Avocette-3.jpg

I can see this page, but I do NOT see any image.
Maybe this is a clue?

IIRC hubzilla will zidify URLs for nomadic connections only if they come with a zrl or zmg bbcode tag.
Streams sends HTML and text/multicode only.

Right - so this is one of those side effects of multicode. They are converted to html links with class="zrl", but as far as I know there aren't any specific functions to zidify these.

After some investigation, it looks like zidify_links() will in fact do the right thing. Streams passes html content intact and I've added this call so that it will zidify links from any source, however it turns out to be a bit harder on the Hubzilla side since I believe hz still converts all html content to bbcode.
I think it would require the recognition of class=zrl enabled url|img tags in html2bbcode, and that's some pretty hairy legacy code that hasn't really changed since Friendica days.
This is really a bit of an edge case as it's working as designed on the streams side, but the interaction with Hubzilla leaves a bit to be desired due to a really unfortunate series of events and circumstances.
But Hubzilla is actually doing nothing wrong or different from the way it has always worked. It's just that the streams implementation has changed over time and introduced some unexpected twists and turns.

- I have no idea what you wish to accomplish with that ticket. Could you please provide a bit more detailed description of how you would like to see it resolved? What changes would you like to see?
